Senior Highway Engineer

Location: Central London, Aldgate, with hybrid working from home up to 3 days a week

Salary: 40k – 50k plus bonus and wider package benefits

Emtech are working with a well known UK wide Transport and Civil Engineering Consultancy who are looking for a Senior Highway Engineer to join their team in London. The London office has 50 staff based there working on a wide range of projects including town centre redevelopments, commercial units, large retail developments, access roads, local authority highway schemes, roundabout and junction design.

You will be responsible for the preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects. You will also be responsible for project management, budgeting, producing bill of quantities, and costings.

General Responsibilities & Experience Required:

• Ensure the scheme design complies with the specification and agreed programme.
• Ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
• Ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts.
• Liaison with client, stakeholders and third parties.
• Liaise and manage other team members associated with the design.
• A sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
• Experience of design and managing the Section 278/38 process.
• Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
• A detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation
• Knowledge of Civil 3D is desired

In this role you will be a part of a social office and wider company with 10+ offices across the UK. You will receive full Chartership support and have opportunities to lead on highway schemes with support from an experienced Director where needed.
