Salary: 50k – 60k plus benefits

Are you a talented Highway Designer ready to take the next step in your career?

We’re working with a forward-thinking consultancy that’s expanding its development planning team—and they’re looking for a Principal Highway Designer to join them on a variety of exciting projects across the UK.

The Role:
You’ll lead on early-stage design for highway links, junctions, active travel corridors, and traffic calming schemes. You’ll also support technical reporting and help shape access strategies for new developments.

Key Skills We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years’ experience in highway design
• Proficient in AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a bonus!)
• Strong knowledge of MfS, DMRB, and LTN 1/20
• Comfortable producing swept path analysis & vehicle tracking
• Familiar with S278/S38 Agreements and Road Safety Audits
• Bonus if you know SPONS, traffic modelling, or TSRGD

Qualifications:

• Ideally EngTech / IEng / CEng
• Membership with ICE, CIHT, or CILT
